To ensure effective malware protection, only operating system versions that are still supported by Sophos should be used. Older versions are no longer supplied with the latest version of Sophos AV protection, so bugs and security gaps are not closed and the supply of signature updates may also no longer be reliable.

Systems with outdated operating systems should be upgraded to a new version as soon as possible. If this is not possible because the hardware is too old, the affected systems should be completely replaced as soon as possible.
