The processes in research, teaching and administration have become increasingly dependent on well-functioning information and communication technology. At the same time, the number of potential threats has increased dramatically – threats which especially endanger the availability, integrity and confidentiality of IT systems and the information they process. These terms represent the fundamental values of IT security.
The goal is to achieve and maintain a state, in which the fundamental values of IT security are guaranteed according to the specifications of the university administration and existing legal regulations, by countering potential threats to such an extent that we can live with the existing risks.
The SCC has implemented all the necessary measures to achieve this goal. However, the active participation (and vigilance) of all users is crucial for ensuring effective IT security throughout the university.
We provide regular information on current security incidents on the SCC message board. Information on incidents of particular relevance can also be found on the »Latest News« page in the IT security section.
The IT Security Officer at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is the contact person for all questions in the area of IT security and is responsible for handling all security-related incidents.
For security-related inquiries and reports, please always contact our user service first, as incident handling is done via the ticket system.
