not nothing

Room with togetherness and understanding, by Checkpoint Bravo in zone zero Berlin-Brandenburg. A place as IM (Interactive Museum), where people can create, live, as exchange between the original creation and the input from the IM. For visitors, it happens that they work at their lives until it is a work of art and they work at their art until life catches up with it. In memory of Ray Johnson’s work: nothing, the paper snake; he believed in the essential structural nothing of expression and identity. Anything isolated is beautiful, albeit opaque. To deal in invisibilities and anonymities is part of our investigation. «There is a present there is distribution, by this I mean expression and time and in this way at present composition is time that is the reason that at present this time-sence is troubling that is the reason why at present the time-sence is the composition is the composition that is making what this is in composition.» ¹

build allegory

I miss the Twins. «…the most beautiful thing I ever filmed».

Random similarities, the Twins from A115 to Avus north race curve. Our project deals with a building (ensemble) that does not exist any more at the site where it was built before. I miss the Twins. How can we experience «animation of rooms», of a building that doesn’t exist? Souls function as voids, the inbetween, that makes a space, rooms visible. A received architecture with coincidental resemblances. When one thing resembles something else, creativity is possible for beauty, and metaphor is possible for meaning. Fact is freed into image. A film by Sam Mendes «American Beauty» portraits a white bag playing with autumn leaves dancing in front of a brick wall. The dance with the bag is filmed like the unusual scenes and moments the photographer in Antonioni’s film «Blow Up» frames with his video camera. “…the most beautiful thing I ever filmed”. Image sequences in Films preserve remembrance of the missing. Meaning awakens in that isolated beautiful thing when connected to something else; the dream of Philippe Petit.
