English Test for Prospective Students
Due to the current coronavirus situation, many prospective students may not have access to traditional standardized English assessment tests. As a provisional alternative during this time, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will recognize a DAAD certificate as proof of students’ English levels needed for their applications. Prospective students can take the online Pearson Placement Speaking (Premium Placement) Test to receive a DAAD certificate.
The Pearson Placement Speaking Test can be done online at any time. Once the test has been completed, you will receive a GSE (Global Scale of English) score which can then be converted into the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) score that the university requires.
Once you have received your score, please contact Howard Atkinson (howard.atkinson[at]uni-weimar.de), who will transfer it to a DAAD certificate.
Further information on how the test is administered, how to register and pay for the test can be found above.
