1) Why are you researching or studying at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar?
I chose Bauhaus-Universität Weimar because the Computer Science for Digital Media program sits exactly at the intersection I want to work in: intelligent systems and creative media. The curriculum's emphasis on interdisciplinary thinking, combined with modules like Machine Learning for Software Engineering, Image Analysis and Object Recognition, and Virtual Reality, matched my background in computer vision and full-stack development in a way no other program did. Bauhaus also has a distinct identity as a place where technology and artistic thinking genuinely inform each other, which matters to me personally. I come from Pakistan, where access to this kind of environment is limited, and Weimar felt like the right place to develop into the kind of researcher and engineer I want to be.
2) What makes your project special, and why is it relevant?
My focus is on intelligent media systems, specifically how machine learning and computer vision can be applied to understand, organize, and interact with media content. During my bachelor's at the Institute of Space Technology, I built projects in this space, including a Football Analysis System using YOLOv8 and OpenCV for real-time player and ball tracking, and an Online Bookkeeping Web App that received the highest grade and was partially integrated into the university's official finance system. At the Bauhaus, I want to go deeper into audio and video understanding, content analysis, and how these tools can serve cultural and educational purposes rather than purely commercial ones. I believe this area is technically important and ethically significant, especially as questions around AI and creative media become more pressing.
