Im Rahmen des Projekts werden Visualisierungstechniken und Interfaces für die Analyse textbasierter Daten auf einem 8k-Display entwickelt.

The focus of this project is the design and development of interfaces and visualization metaphors for the collaborative analysis of textual data on our large, high-resolution display (7680x4320 pixels, size: 4m x 2.3m)

During the first stage of the project we will analyse recent related work for visualizing textual data ( ). In parallel, solutions for scaling real-time text visualizations to high-resolution displays will be evaluated and prototyped.

In a second stage we will refine existing or design new visualizations and interaction techniques for depicting and surveying textual changes and revisions at different levels of detail. Large text corpora such as the Webis-TRC-12 (that compiles manually written documents obtained from a completely controlled, yet representative web-like environment) will serve as a testbed for our visualization and interface designs.

Lectures in computer graphics, visualization and web search and information retrieval are an ideal prerequisite for the project.
