Beschreibung:

English:

Modern graphics hardware allows the interactive visualization of large volume data sets, generated e.g. by computed tomography or seismic measurements. This project will investigate collaborative work situations in medical diagnosis or geology where such datasets are often used. The goal of the project is the development of a toolkit for the interaction with volume data in our virtual reality system.

Students should have the necessary programming skills to implement their own tools and applications in Python and C++ for the Avango-Guacamole framework.

Topics:

  • Literature studies
  • Scientific visualization
  • Development of tools for manipulation and interaction with volumes in virtual reality environment

Voraussetzungen:

Requirements:

Profound knowledge in C/C++, Courses in computer graphics, visualization and virtual reality are an ideal prerequisite for the project.

Leistungsnachweis:

Selbständige Mitarbeit im Projekt, aktive Einbringung in Gruppenarbeit, Programmierung von Testanwendungen, Durchführung einer Nutzerstudie, zwei bis drei Vorträge, Abschlusspräsentation, schriftliche Dokumentation

Assignments:

Self study, active participation in the project, programming of test applications, planning and executing a user study, two to three intermediate presentations, presentation of final project results, written documentation
