After two successful workshops in Montevideo (Uruguay) and Sagada (Philippines), the third Bauhaus.Listening.Workshop will now take place in Johannesburg from 17 to 22 March 2024. It will bring together sound practitioners and theorists from Southern Africa to exchange ideas about listening cultures and radio history in the region.
Wie wollen wir altern? Welche Rolle spielen alte Menschen für die Gemeinschaft? Und welche Zukunft haben wir selbst in einer immer älter werdenden Gesellschaft? Diesen und weiteren Fragen sind Studierende der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung an der Professur »Experimentelles Radio« nachgegangen und präsentieren die Ergebnisse nun am Theater Erfurt in einem multimedialen Stück.
Das Audiodrama »Blocked Under Ground« erzählt medienübergreifend von einer Untergrund-Katastrophe. Begleitend zum Hörspiel, dass am Samstag, 20. Januar 2024, 15.05 Uhr, erstmals ausgestrahlt wird, werden ein Audiowalk und ein Audiogame für Smartphones erscheinen. »Blocked under Ground« ist praktischer Teil des Forschungsprojektes von Regine Elbers im Rahmen des Ph.D.-Programms »Kunst und Design« an Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und wird an der Professur »Experimentelles Radio« betreut.
Der Leipziger Hörspielsommer e. V. schreibt in Kooperation mit der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Professur für Experimentelles Radio, seit 2014 den Hörspielmanuskriptwettbewerb aus. Dabei werden kurze Hörspieltexte gesucht. Einsendeschluss ist der 01. Februar 2024.

Mit ihrer MDR-Produktion »Vogel Igel Stachelschwein. Ein Spiel in Weimar Nord« sind die Alumni der Medienkunst / Mediengestaltung Mara May, Jūratė Braginaitė und Tommy Neuwirth im Rahmen der ARD Hörspieltage, die vom 9. bis 12. November 2023 am ZKM Karlsruhe stattfanden, mit dem Hauptpreis des Deutschen Hörspielpreises der ARD 2023 prämiert worden. Die Auszeichnung ist mit 5.000 Euro dotiert und beinhaltet auch die Ausstrahlung des Hörspiels durch alle Landesrundfunkanstalten der ARD, Deutschlandradio, ORF und SRF.
Radio in Germany is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023. To mark this occasion, the artistic research project »Listening to the World – 100 Years of Radio« is exploring listening as a global phenomenon. Sound artists and researchers as well as radio practitioners and theorists came together in Montevideo (March 2023) and Manila/Sagada (August 2023) to examine the past, present and future of regional and transregional listening during workshops. On 21 and 22 October 2023, the preliminary outcomes of the cooperative project between the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Goethe-Institut and Deutschlandfunk Kultur will now be presented at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin.
