A Tower is the Answer ... What was the Question, Again?

Seminar 4 SWS / 6 ECTS Diplom/Master level

The desire to build towers seems almost instinctual; they are present from early myths up to our days, and the only thing that seems to change are the justifications and reasons given for the necessity of constructing towers. Besides its technological feasibility one cannot ignore the fact that the development of the skyscraper depended on one additional necessary condition: the desire for a social display of wealth.

This class is especially, but not exclusively, intended towards the participants of the IAAD program.
