From June 4th to 7th, 2026, the Intercultural Week in Ilmenau (ICW 2026) is being held at TU Ilmenau! Organized by ISWI e.V., this German-wide conference brings students together to tackle the challenges of internationalisation in the German university landscape. The deadline has been extended until 26th April, so take your chance to register NOW.

Topic: Internationalisation - Of course!

Are you interested in improving life for students – especially international students – at your university? This year, we are diving deep into internationalisation and its challenges.

The heart of the program is our Group Work sessions. Unlike traditional lectures, you will:

• Exchange Challenges: Share problems faced in everyday life in Germany.
• Brainstorm Solutions: Share best practices and perspectives with students from universities across all of Germany.
• Choose your path: Each session (Friday & Saturday) features different 3-hour slots. You can decide which specific field of student life you want to focus on for each slot!

???? Culture & Community

It’s not all work! Meet people from diverse backgrounds and make friends for life. We have a vibrant cultural program planned:

• Intercultural Games Night: Play different kinds of games and get to know other students in a fun setting.
• Intercultural Brunch: Cultural food and drinks from around the world prepared by local communities.
• Altstadtfest: The conference collaborates with Ilmenau's city festival, featuring music stages and stalls throughout the inner city.

???? Participation Details

• Who: Students (including PhDs) from all over Germany.
• Benefits: Free accommodation and meals (Breakfast, lunch & dinner) are provided for all participants from June 4th–7th.
• Cost: No participation fee. We only require a refundable deposit (30€ with accommodation) to prevent no-shows.
• Deadline: Apply by April 26th, 2026 (11:59 PM CEST).
