The Institute of European Urban Studies (IfEU) is looking for support in the area of ‘cardboard model’ for the spring school 2026/ workshop ‘Ecological and Inclusive Urban Design’.

The working languages is English.

The position initially offers a contract of 20 hours (or 400EUR) to build the cardboard model for a period from 01.02.2026 to 28.02.2026 and is remunerated according to university standards.

office WYTO /Pauline Gaudry & Elodie Vittu/IfEU offer an Urban Design Spring School on the neighbourhood Jakob/atrium/Lichthaus, with 2 axes: concertation and tactical urbanism. The approach is going to be sensitive, working on material and scale for people with basic architectural backgrounds; IEUS’contribution/Elodie Vittu is the local knowledge and facilitation.

Tasks

o Build an urban model of a district of Weimar in cardboard

• scale: 1/500
• budget: 400eur (20h x 15eur student labor + 100h material)
• possibility to apply as a team of 2 person (with 1/2 of the hours)
• dimensions: 130 cm (650 m) x 70 cm (350 m)

Requirements

o Enrolment at a university for the duration of the position

o English language skills A2 or better

o Design skills and creativity

o self-organisation, also for the building materials

o Experience with using materials and doing mockups/models

o Organisational talent, ability to work independently, ability to meet deadlines

o Ability to work in a team

o regular online meetings
