The XV. International Bauhaus Colloquium is looking for a student assistant with a background in design/visual communication to help further develop and implement the visual appearance of the Colloquium across different media (website, Instagram, print).

The International Bauhaus Colloquium at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is a prestigious international conference on current topics in architectural history and theory, with a special focus on the history and legacy of the Bauhaus. It has taken place 14 times since 1976 and has contributed significantly to the restoration and discussion of Bauhaus heritage. In 2026, fifty years after its inauguration, the Colloquium will expand its focus toward an inter- and transdisciplinary exploration of research politics. The conference will take place in November 2026.

Your role

You will work on the further development of the visual identity, starting from basic design decisions that have already been made. You will collaborate closely with the curatorial committee of the Colloquium and support the design process across digital and print media.

Practical details

• Start date: as soon as possible
• Workload: 16 hours per month
• Duration: 6 months
• Remote work: possible (hybrid setup)
• Payment: hourly rate depending on your level of study

Requirements

• Experience in visual design for different media: website (mobile & desktop), Instagram, print (flyers, posters, stickers, etc.)
• Interest in managing small design projects
• Basic understanding of how conferences are structured and communicated
• Reliable and structured way of working
• Good communication skills
• Basic knowledge of either English or German
• Enrolled as a student at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
