We are delighted to welcome Johanna Seelemann from the Kunsthochschule Kassel to give a lecture about »Design for changing values« at the faculty on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, at 5.30 p.m. Anyone interested is warmly invited to attend!
The lecture will present projects by Johanna Seelemann, focusing on her curiosity for a systemic approach to everyday objects, unexpected links, possible counter-narratives, interdisciplinary field trips, guiding principles, distilled suggestions and their materialized translations. The works presented by the studio engage with the following topics: a renewed proposal for the definition of inclusive design by incorporating other-than-humans, a reinterpretation of gratitude rituals, the question for how we intend to employ our technological knowledge, a quest for finding new contexts for endangered crafts; and changing the value of a material through aesthetics.
