Overtreders W (Trespassers W) are a spatial design agency, founded in 2006 by Reinder Bakker and Hester van Dijk. Graduates of The Design Academy in Eindhoven, we are currently based in Amsterdam. We have designed the interior space of several restaurants and visitor‘s centres, a few exhibitions and small pavilions, and even a wool factory, an entrance gate for the biggest outdoor market of Amsterdam, and a mobile picnic pavilion with a luminous inflatable roof.

We believe in a sustainable world, in which trash is a material resource, products are mainly produced locally and people are able to make a living with their skills. Therefore, we like to work with recycled materials, we love to reveal the beauty of regular everyday materials and we stimulate craftsmanship in our designs. Naturally we want the sustainable world to look impressive, so we turn our concepts into great designs.

One of the things we find compelling within our design practice, is that every project brings us into contact with a range of new, interesting people: foresters and shepherds, dog walkers and market vendors, hipsters and grandmothers, coffee lovers and pancake eaters. They will become the end users of the establishments we design, we take their wishes and dreams seriously. Ultimately we design something they would never have thought of, which is much more beautiful than they could ever have imagined. In this way, we create places that are truly loved.

Although we are a small and flexible design agency, because of our large network, that among others includes graphic designers, architects, product designers, food designers, photographers and interior builders, we can also handle larger projects. Among are client listing are non profit institutions such as Natuurmonumenten (The Netherland‘s largest nature preservation society), municipalities, smaller companies from the cultural field and commercial companies such as Forbo Flooring and Port of Rotterdam Authority.
