UHI course for Spring School March 2026
29 graduate students from 12 European Universities took part in our course "Urban Heat Islands: Understanding the context of climatic, cultural and physical conditions in urban environments" at Bauhaus Spring School from March 16 to 20.
The interdisciplinary course (3 ECTS) systematically teaches participants about urban heat islands (UHI) and how they relate to man-made structural and climatic factors. Participants use geographic information systems (GIS) to evaluate and interpret climate data and use this to develop various planning and design strategies for reducing heat stress in urban contexts.
