Vita

Katarzyna Włoszczyńska is a doctoral candidate in Media Philosophy at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and a research assistant at the IKKM (Internationales Kolleg für Kulturtechnikforschung und Medienphilosophie). She has previously held a fellowship from the Centre allemand d'histoire de l'art in Paris, and two scholarships from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). Having studied in Jena (Germany) and Kraków (Poland) she holds an MA in Media Studies from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, where she has also been a lecturer in Film Studies.

As an associated member at the KOMA her research project explores the notion of wonderment in film theory as an anthropomedial relation. In the past she has been working on the mediality of re-making, the theory and history of film remakes, post-cinema, image-humans, medial practices of archiving and the aesthetics of translation in cinema.
