On May 16–17, 2023, the ECL-AA participated in the DAAD Networking Event in Bonn, part of the ongoing programme "Partnerships for Sustainable Solutions with Sub-Saharan Africa". Organized by the DAAD, the two-day event brought together international university teams to present their projects, exchange ideas, and discuss sustainable solutions to development challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa.

We presented our BMBF- and DAAD-funded project Integrated Urban Mobility (INUMO). INUMO focuses on embedding mobility planning into the early phases of urban design, using the INUMO-Toolbox—an analysis tool that enables interdisciplinary professionals to simulate and evaluate mobility strategies in terms of sustainability and resilience.

Our presentation highlighted the project's intercultural education component, which involves workshops, seminars, and digital innovations such as real-time data collection and online training. These activities aim to build local capacity and develop practical, context-specific solutions for Ethiopia’s rapidly evolving urban environments.

The event fostered valuable dialogue, particularly through hybrid formats that allowed remote participation by African partners. It provided a meaningful opportunity to share progress, reflect on challenges, and strengthen collaboration within the broader network of DAAD-funded initiatives.
