Bio
Lilla Varga is a researcher at Bauhaus-University Weimar with a background in architecture, working in the DFG-project “Authoritarian Urbanism in the 21st Century” looking at new forms of authoritarian urbanism beyond mega-projects and major cities. As co-founder of the girlscanscan collective, she focuses on combining feminist spatial approaches and critical analysis of modernist heritage and language in architectural discourse, making complex urban issues accessible for broader audiences.
Research Interests
Feminist spatial practices, critical analysis of modernist architectural and cultural heritage, progressive urban development and participatory planning, authoritarian and neoliberal urban transformations, community engagement and collaborative research methods and social justice perspectives.
