Tesfaye Hailu Bekele

Tesfaye Hailu is a BSc Graduate of AAU in Civil Engineering. He received his MSc from IHE-Delft. He has been working as a lecturer for 20 years at the Ethiopian Institute of Architecture, Building Construction, and City Development (EiABC) in Addis Ababa University. He was former chairholder of Infrastructure Design and Construction. He is also a researcher and advisor of urban water and infrastructure related courses. His area of research focused on an integrated infrastructure system at Emerging Cities Lab on the theoretical modelling of decentralized water and wastewater treatment units for small and emerging towns. Currently, he is a research coordinator of Integrated Mobility Research at ECL-AA. He contributed a book chapter on lessons of informality on decentralized infrastructure and published an infrastructure governance interface article with international researchers on Environment and planning C journal. Tesfaye Hailu is a private consultant of wastewater network modelling and wastewater treatment plants design in Addis Ababa. Currently, he is a PhD. Candidate in the EiABC Urban and Regional Planning Program and working on infrastructure provision for urban pocket areas.
