Structure

The one-day workshop is organized in three phases,

  1. keynote talks
  2. introduction of AR applications through presentations by participants, and
  3. article outline draft trough collaborative brainstorming.

Participants

Participants have expertise or are interested in building expertise in the field of AR technology design. Participants are invited to submit descriptions of (location-based) AR Learning applications as a paper and present them for discussion in the workshop. Thus, papers on (location-based) AR learning applications are welcome in the following sections:

  • Concepts
  • Prototypes
  • Empirical Studies

However, participation in the workshop is not tied to the submission of a paper. The workshop is held in English. A submission should use the Word Template  of the GI-Edition Lecture Notes in Informatics (LNI).  It should describe the learning scenario, design decisions, and evaluation results, if applicable. It is recommended that  a submission does not exceed 6 pages.For the description of a learning scenario, it is advisable to follow description schemes, such asEducational AR Canvas-Towards Systematic Design of AR Learning Experiences  (German)

Results

Based on the results of the collaborative brainstorming, workshop organizers and participants together will conduct a paper to be published in a scientific journal. Further, workshop papers will be published as proceedings in the GI Digital Library (https://dl.gi.de/).

Fine print

The workshop is free of fees. It is open to participants to attend the Joint Conference on Serious Games (www.uni-weimard.de/jcsg2022), which will also be held in Weimar on the following two days, at reduced fee.
