The university library provides access to a wide range of licensed research literature, supplemented by selected Open Access resources. The database information system DBIS serves as a gateway to scientific and research databases. E-books and e-journals are listed and linked in BibSearch; e-journals are additionally listed and linked in the Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek EZB.
The library makes e-books available in full whenever possible. Depending on the specific licensing deals with publishers and platforms, some e-books may only be available in part. E-books are usually provided in pdf format, but may - additionally or exclusively - be provided in other formats such as epub or MOBI, or in read-only access, all depending on the publisher.

You may access licensed items from within the university network, including while connected to eduroam WiFi.
A VPN connection allows you to access licensed items from outside the university network.
Most licensed items can also be accessed using the authentification service Shibboleth. You will find us under »B - Bauhaus-Universität Weimar« in the list.
If you're a member of another university or other institution that participates in the international WiFi roaming service »eduroam«, you can use your home institution's account to log into our »eduroam« WiFi and access online items licensed to Bauhaus-Universität Weimar from all across campus.
If you have a library account, you can also apply for a guest account for the library's public computers. Please apply in person at the service desk. You will be able to access all licensed items from any library computer.
