Since the march 17th 2014 Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the Studierendenwerk Thüringen and the Liszt School of Music Weimar provide an adaptable childcare service „Bauhäuschen“, located at Amalienstraße 31.

Students, employees of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Studierendenwerk Thüringen and the Liszt School of Music Weimar can leave their children (from age twelve weeks to seven years) in the care of trained child-minders for two to four hours per day or a maximum of ten hours per week.

Two play and sleeping rooms as well as a clothing room for placing baby carriages are available. The „Bauhäuschen“ is located in the fourth floor and easy to access through an elevator. Child care service is available from Mondays to Thursdays 8 am - 8 pm and on Fridays from 8 am - 2 pm. An application and booking in advance is necessary and can be booked in blocks ( one block equals two hours ). The payment is prepaid, for a two-hour child care block students pay 4,00 and employees 6,50 €.

Who can use the childcare service at Bauhäuschen?

Student parents of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, employees of the Bauhaus-University Weimar, the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar and the Studierendenwerk Thüringen can use the care service for their children.

How do I register my child?

You have to submit following forms and documents at the INFOtake in Weimar before your child visits „Bauhäuschen“ for the first time. The initial registration always takes place in person at the INFOtake in the foyer of the Mensa am Park.

  • form: Standard terms and conditions

  • copy of child's birth certificate

  • copy of the student identification card (thoska) or the employee identification badge

How do I book a childcare service slot?

You can either write an e-mail, go there in person or call the INFOtake Weimar (03641 / 581506) three days prior to the beginning of the childcare at the latest. The Availability of a place will be checked and you will be informed as quickly as possible. If there is a place for your request, please pay the payment for the childcare service in advance at the cashier of the INFOtake Weimar (in the foyer of the Mensa am Park).

The deposit receipt is counted as the booking confirmation and has to be handed over to the child-minders when your child is being taken to the Bauhäuschen.

When and how long can my child been taken care of?

The childcare service in the „Bauhäuschen“ is available, if necessary, from monday to friday.

On weekends and bank holidays the flexible childcare service is closed.

A childcare service booking can be done in blocks, one block equals two hours. The maximum amount of care service time for a child is four hours a day or max. ten hours a week.

Who takes care of my child?

The child-minders are trained by the Studierendenwerk Thüringen, successfully completed a first-aid training and have a current certificate of health. All of them take care of the children according to requirements.

What does my child need to take there?

Please give your child one pair of non-skid socks and if applicable change of cloths.
Babies or infants also need diapers, baby wipes and a changing mat.  

If your child needs to sleep during the „Bauhäuschen“ visit, it is important to bring a sleeping bag. Please mark every item the child brings with him or her with a name.

There is no food or drink offered in the „Bauhäuschen“. If your child needs a meal or a drink during the childcare, it has to be brought and marked with his or her name also. Allowed food products are listed in the standard terms and conditions form (Allgemeine Nutzungsbedingungen).

When is my child not allowed to visit the flexible childcare service?

If your child has fallen sick, it is not allowed to visit the Bauhäuschen. The staff is not allowed to give any medication to children. It is important, that you are always reachable under your stated telephone number/emergency number!

Kinderbetreuung während Tagung

Eine organisierte Kinderbetreuung kann manchen Tagungsinteressierten die Teilnahme an Konferenzen, die an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar stattfinden, erleichtern. Die flexible Kinderbetreuung »Bauhäuschen« bietet für Kinder von Tagungsteilnehmenden ein entsprechendes Betreuungsangebot.

Informationen zur Kinderbetreuung während Tagungen

  • Betreuung von Kindern im Alter von zwölf Wochen bis sieben Jahren durch geschulte Betreuerinnen bzw. Betreuer
  • Anmeldung bis 14 Tage vor Tagungsbeginn
  • Anmeldeformulare werden bereitgestellt, müssen von den Eltern ausgefüllt und spätestens zu Betreuungsbeginn vorgelegt werden
  • Kosten für externe Tagungsteilnehmende: 10 Euro/zwei Stunden eine Bezahlung per Rechnung ist möglich
  • Betreuung vorzugsweise in den kindgerecht gestalteten Räumen des Bauhäuschens in der Amalienstraße 13  ggf. auch am Veranstaltungsort
