The goal of university and student marketing is to communicate the University’s identity and values in an authentic, creative, and targeted way, ensuring both internal and external visibility. We combine strategic and operational work to attract, retain, and engage students, and to strengthen the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar brand. We develop and manage central marketing and communication initiatives, such as brand-building campaigns, developing and implementing specific events, and designing promotional materials.
To accomplish this, we work closely together with the departments, faculties, central services, student representatives, and external partners, such as the city of Weimar, the Klassikstiftung, and external designers.
We develop and implement concepts and approaches for university and student marketing that strengthen the University’s identity and growth.
We also advise the university community on specific matters and help them to effectively prioritise, plan, and implement marketing initiatives with the aim of establishing a coherent image of the University.

We capture the University’s identity, interpret it, and effectively showcase it through media, publications, and digital formats.
This includes promoting central publications and developing appropriate content; it also includes arranging professional staff photos and managing the University website. Together, these measures form a recognisable, appealing, and accessible image.
The University Communications team is responsible for closely collaborating with the Office of Student and Academic Affairs (DSL) on student marketing at the University. We focus on the question of what young people need to know before deciding to study at our University and on what makes us unique.
