Gin Packagings

Cooperation with Wiegand Manufactur Weimar

As part of the ‘To Beer or Not to Beer’ project, students collaborated with local gin distillery Wiegand Manufactur Weimar to develop a new beverage concept for the company. This new drink is particularly aimed at young students. The task involved creating a recipe, designing a story for the product and creating its packaging. A total of 14 concepts were created, including designs for gin, whisky, and non-alcoholic distillates.

Matthias Wiegand, the students, and an external jury then voted on which proposal Wiegand Manufactur should produce on a trial basis. Melanie Sit won this competition. Her whisky-based mixed drink, ‚C’Oh Boy‘, contains mango and coconut notes; the design is inspired by the cowboys of the American West and the vibrant food packaging of South East Asia.
