The 'Animals We Are' project course presented its results from the previous semester at an exhibition held at Marienstraße 1 as part of the 2026 Winterwerkschau. In the course, the students developed communication formats addressing animal welfare, animal rights, and speciesism. The project partners were NABU Thüringen and PETA Germany.

Masihne Rasuli designed the exhibition posters based on a semester work by Leonie Wessling. The posters' design draws inspiration from the distinctive yellow ear tags used by farmers to mark cows as livestock and property. This visual reference was incorporated consistently throughout the design, including the colour scheme, layout and even the characteristic shape of the ear tags. 

As a result, the posters stand out strongly in public spaces due to their unusual outline. Sharp slogans highlight the speciesist attitude with which we humans often view animals as mere commodities and consumer goods: 'Excuse me, may I eat your arm?', 'Excuse me, may I barbecue your child?' and 'Excuse me, may I wear your skin?' pose direct questions to the audience, generating not only attention but also an initial moment of reflection on one’s own treatment of animals.
