The Bauhaus Research School organizes regular events for young researchers and artists of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, as well as prospectve doctoral candidates.

Doktorhut - Mortar Board

The Mortar Board is a semi-annual information event aimed primarily at students, who are considering a doctorate. The "Doktorhut" is about a scientific career, its conditions and prospects, our university doctoral programs and funding opportunities.

Ph.D. & Postdoc Welcome Days

At the beginning of the winter semester we invite all new doctoral candidates and postdocs at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to inform about various support possibilities, to get together, talk and network.

Publication Day 2025

Publication Day will offer doctoral candidates essential information about all facets of academic publishing in 60-minute mini-workshops.

Career Day

At the »Career Day«, Doctoral candidates, Postdocs and research assistants are invited in various workshops to explore their career opportunities both within and outside academia.

Nights of Writing

The Night of Writing was a collaborative event of the library of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Bauhaus Research School until 2024. Every year a diverse programme around the topic of writing at a university was presented.

Poster Contest / Elevator Pitch

Regularly the Bauhaus Research School organizes a contest for young scientists and artists. The prices are awarded in two categories: the best poster and the best mini-presentation - the so-called elevator pitch.

10 Years Bauhaus Research School

The Bauhaus Research School Jubilee Year provides opportunities for retrospections and the development of creative ideas for future support of junior researchers at the university.
