Studying at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar? The Open Campus Day on 30 May 2026 Provides Answers
On Saturday, 30 May 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will provide visitors with a comprehensive insight into its range of courses and answer the following questions: What is the right degree programme for me? How can I finance my studies? What can I expect in Weimar and on campus? These questions and others will be answered by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Studierendenwerk Thüringen staff in the foyer of the Mensa am Park at Marienstraße 15 starting at 9 am. Guests will be provided with general and subject-specific information on studying.
Following a welcoming speech by University President Prof. Peter Benz and a presentation by Sebastian Hollnack, Director of Studierendenwerk Thüringen, information on study options at the university and on studying abroad at one of the nearly 200 partner universities worldwide will be provided from 10 to 11 am in Lecture Hall A, Marienstraße 13. Numerous other advising services will also be available. Starting at 1:30 pm in Lecture Hall C, information will be provided on the social aspects of student life, with topics such as housing, costs, and financial aid taking centre stage.
For those interested in specific Bachelor or Master's degree programme or project-based programmes at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, lecturers and staff from the four faculties — Architecture and Urbanism, Environmental and Civil Engineering, Art and Design, and Media —will be giving presentations on their degree programmes at 11:15 am and 12:30 pm in Marienstraße 13. The faculties will be opening their workshops, labs, studios, classrooms, and workspaces from 9 am to 3 pm, giving prospective students a comprehensive look into studying at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar through individual visits and campus tours.
The University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar (HfM) will also be represented at the event with their own booth and will be providing information on its degree programmes in musicology, cultural management, and music education.
For the fine art degree programmes of Media Art and Design, Fine Art Education (Secondary School), Produktdesign (Product Design), and Visuelle Kommunikation (Visual Communication) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, individual portfolio and study consultations will be offered in the Mensa am Park at Marienstraße 15, 1st floor.
