Two successful master's defenses by Digital Engineering students at ITD

Two Master's theses were successfully defended at the beginning of the year.

Anas Asif worked on the digitization of analogue test reports on drill core examinations. Numerous forms were available from a comprehensive extraction of drill cores from a bridge. The data set was too large to be analyzed manually. Hence, he developed and implemented a method converting the data into a machine-readable format.

David Oghenekaro Ovie dealt with the integration of non-destructive testing results into BIM models. Early in the process, it became evident that processes and data elements had to be specified in order to ensure a standardized format. The result of the work was a formal definition of a workflow.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Koch and Mathias Artus were responsible for the scientific supervision. We congratulate Mr. Asif and Mr. Ovie on their successful master's theses and wish them all the best for the future!
