150 Years of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar: 1860-2010
Bauhaus-Universität Weimar celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2010. The founding of the Großherzoglich-Sächsischen Kunstschule Weimar on October 1, 1860 created a significant location for the cultural center, which still influences the city to this day. Bauhaus-Universität Weimar created a number of events to celebrate its historical roots for the 150th anniversary.
The re-opening of the Van-de-Velde-Building on February 5, 2010 served as a prelude to the jubilee year. Celebrations included a number of events and culminated in a concentration of festivities in October that revived the spirit of the history.
Devoted to the 150th jubilee, 150 Years of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is a special edition that appeared in the university journal der bogen until the beginning of 2011. You can download the entire edition as a PDF here.
