The exhibition »What’s Left? – An Attempt at Contemporary« (»Was bleibt? – Ein Versuch zur Gegenwart«) aims to sketch a character profile of our time by asking what will be left of us 100 years from now, i.e. in the year 2114? What makes our present age different than others in the past and where do we see it expressed? What current developments and events will merit commemoration and find their way into collective memory?
The cross-genre and cross-disciplinary student works in the exhibition will probe these questions and offer answers to the title »What’s Left?« with representative extracts illustrating contemporary life.
All students of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are invited to participate in an open call for artistic works. We ask that participants submit their previously completed works, as well as those specifically made for the exhibition, no later than 1 July 2014.
»marke.6« is the exhibition venue of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the Neues Museum, jointly financed by the Student Council and the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. With more than 20 exhibitions in the past six years, »marke.6« has succeeded in establishing itself in Weimar’s art and cultural scene. The art gallery is a student-run project, jointly coordinated by students from Weimar’s two institutions of higher education.»marke.6« is particularly committed to presenting contemporary fields of art and design, initiating discourse, encouraging potential and promoting experimentation.
