From the Latin »cultura«, the term stands for nurturing, building, preserving - terms that are deeply rooted in actions, myth, space, and time. Culture is more than simply an expression; it is an action, an understanding, a space of possibility for the future.
But what does culture mean today? What role does it play in interpreting the world and as a formative force in social transformation processes?
Annemie Vanackere, Director of Hebbel am Ufer Berlin, Ulrike Lorenz, President of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, and Prof. Peter Benz, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, have been invited to the event. Together, they will be discussing the importance of culture as a fundamental constant of human existence, its transformative potential, and its responsibility in the face of global challenges. The event will be moderated by Carsten Tesch, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.
