Second Round of Dialogue-Free, International »SalSa Film Festival« Begins
From 7 to 9 November 2024, the »International, Dialogue-Free SalSa Film Festival« will take place in Weimar. Following last year’s successful première, the Festival will, for the first time, be organised by Faculty of Art and Design students at CineStar Weimar. The event will include screenings of short, dialogue-free films from all over the world. Entrance is free of charge.
28 films were selected for the festival out of nearly 3,000 submissions from 120 different countries. What makes the films submitted special is that they are free of any spoken language and communicate using a universal visual language that transcends linguistic and cultural boundaries. »We wanted to open the door to a cinematic world where people of all ages and cultures can enjoy the films without having to rely on language«, say Sahar Darvish and Salman Vakili, Media Art and Design students who founded the event.
Six awards, including best feature film, best animation, best documentary, and best children's film will be awarded by a jury.
