An der Langen Nacht der Museen Weimar beteiligt sich die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar am Samstag, 18. Mai 2019, mit einem eigenen Programm. Highlights sind die Ausstellungseröffnung »Collect Bauhaus« und das Konzert »Bach am Bauhaus«.

Im Labor für Bauwerkssensorik und Datenanalyse erarbeiten Studierende und Lehrende der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar digitale Lösungen für das Bauwesen 4.0. Am 14. Mai 2019 wurde das Innovationsprojekt als eines von bundesweit zehn Preisträgern von der Initiative »Deutschland – Land der Ideen« und der Deutschen Bank in Berlin ausgezeichnet.

Seit mittlerweile über einem Jahrzehnt arbeiten die Veranstalter des APOLDA EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD und die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar erfolgreich zusammen. Mit dem Filmprojekt »Fashion Clips« im Wintersemester 2019/20 geht die Kooperation in die nächste Runde: Studierende des Studiengangs Medienkunst/Mediengestaltung der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung übersetzen darin die für den APOLDA EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD 2020 nominierten Modekollektionen in kurze Modefilme.

Das Institut für Europäische Urbanistik (IfEU) der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar lädt am Donnerstag, 23. Mai 2019, 19 Uhr, zu einem öffentlichen Abendvortrag der Architektin Dr. Anne Kockelkorn (ETH Zürich) ein. In ihrem Vortrag betrachtet die Professorin für Kunst- und Architekturgeschichte die Wohnungsfrage aus architektonischer Perspektive. Der Soziologe Prof. Dr. Stephan Lessenich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) kommentiert den Vortrag.

As part of the »100 Years of Bauhaus« centenary events from 15 to 17 May 2019 the »Bauhaus Medien. Praktiken zwischen Handwerk, Material und Aisthesis« (Bauhaus media. Practices between crafts, material and aisthesis) conference is taking place at the Faculty of Media of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Over three days renowned scholars will focus on the Bauhaus as a media phenomenon - from its origins through to modern day.

On Wednesday 15 May 2019 students and alumni as well as anyone else interested in attending have the opportunity at the Weimar Career Fair to meet with potential companies for work experience and employment, and take a further step on their career path. 75 exhibitors will be presenting from 10am to 3pm at Mensa am Park and in the adjacent inner courtyard.

»Nothing is waste water, everything is a resource« – in accordance with this motto students and teachers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have developed an interactive toilet. The »P-Bank« project, which is funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation, intends to show sustainable alternatives to the conventional waste water system. Until 16 August 2019 interested persons are warmly invited to try out the New Alternative Sanitation System (NASS) located on Marienstraße 11 (LÜCKE) and to donate phosphorus.

Under the title »EGO vs. ECO – eine Gegenüberstellung« (EGO vs. ECO - a comparison) the second exhibition by EIGENHEIM Weimar/Berlin will open on 4 May 2019 at 7pm as the official display-window of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the centenary year »100 Years of Bauhaus«. In its rooms in Berlin-Charlottenburg the gallery - in cooperation with Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and other institutions - presents work by students, teachers and alumni from all four faculties of the university.

Die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar setzt mit dem Bannermotiv des international bekannten Künstlers Hans Haacke ein Zeichen für kulturelle Vielfalt und Toleranz. Bis zum 15. Mai 2019 zeigt die Litfaßsäule in der Belvederer Allee in zwölf verschiedenen Sprachen die Aufschrift »Wir (alle) sind das Volk«, gerahmt von einem regenbogenfarbenen Verlauf.

»Unter jedem Parkplatz liegt ein Schatz« – das möchten Studierende der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar am Beispiel der Schützengasse 6-10 beweisen. Am Mittwoch, den 24. April 2019, von 11 bis 18 Uhr, verwandeln Philipp Kohl, Laura Muske, Tuan Nguyen und Leon Thiebes die innerstädtischen Parkflächen in einen grünen Ort der Begegnung. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen, alternative Verkehrskonzepte in Workshops bei Snacks und Getränken selbst zu erleben.

As part of the »Mensch Macht Moderne« event series, on Wednesday 25 April 2019 at 6 pm in the Yellow Room at Albrecht-Dürer-Straße 2, Prof. Dr. Karola Wille will be speaking on the topic: »Digital turning point – the perspective of public service media« Anyone interested in the topic is welcome to attend.

The ‘Cirque du Bauhaus’ opens its doors on Wednesday 22 May 2019 at the Zeiss-Planetarium in Jena, and presents a spectacular interplay between a digital 360-degree projection, a live orchestra, drama, and performance art. This show beneath a virtual circus tent is a contribution by Weimar’s universities to the Bauhaus Centenary, updating classic Bauhaus themes with contemporary media.

Vom 13. bis 17. Mai 2019 haben Bachelorabsolventen und -studierende aller Hochschulen die Möglichkeit, im Rahmen des Programms »In.Sight Master« die Masterangebote der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar kennenzulernen. Im thüringenweit einzigartigen Format können Interessierte Lehrveranstaltungen aus verschiedenen Studiengängen besuchen und so das Studium an der Weimarer Universität ausprobieren. Die kostenlose Anmeldung ist ab sofort online möglich.

Using an exceptional combination of light installations, dance, song, performances and music, Weimar’s universities will shine in all their glory for an evening and join forces to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of founding the Staatliche Bauhaus, which opened in Weimar in April 1919.

Vom 10. bis 12. April 2019 kommen in Weimar Fachleute zum XIV. Internationalen Bauhaus-Kolloquium zusammen. Über 250 Interessierte haben sich bereits angemeldet. Eine Anmeldung ist noch bis 9. April 2019 über die Website www.bauhaus-kolloquium.de möglich.

On Wednesday 10 April 2019 at 3 pm, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Library will host the opening of the exhibition »The Bauhaus Books: a European publishing project by Bauhaus in 1924-1930«. At an exclusive prior event at 11 am the same day, exhibition curator Michael Siebenbrodt and University director Dr. Frank Simon-Ritz will offer media representatives a first look at the exhibition.

Bis 2050 sollen der Energieverbrauch und die CO2-Emissionen der Campusgebäude an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar drastisch gesenkt werden. Der Klimaschutzplan der Bundesregierung sieht bis 2050 deutschlandweit sogar eine Reduktion um 80 Prozent vor. Ausgangspunkt ist die energetische Analyse des Gebäudebestandes der Bauhaus-Universität im Rahmen des DBU-geförderten Projekts »Bauhaus 2050« und des von der Universitätsleitung unterstützten Folgeprojektes »Bauhaus 2050+« in den kommenden drei Jahren.

From 3 April to 2 June 2019 at the Schiller Museum and in Weimar’s urban area, international students and teachers are exploring the utopian opportunities of a future Bauhaus collection. In contrast to the new Bauhaus Museum, which presents Bauhaus and its ideas using various thematic blocks and focal points of the collection with the historic 1925 Bauhaus collection as the most important, this exhibition project will focus on the future with performances and installations. The topics of migration, social utopia, and economy already featured in the works of the original Bauhaus members. These subjects remain highly topical today, and will be tackled with visitors to the exhibition and in accompanying events.

A Bauhaus walk app has been created to mark the start of the celebrations for the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar anniversary year in Weimar. The »Where is Walter?« audio walk can now be downloaded free of charge in German and English for iOS and Android devices.

The grand opening of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar outdoor facilities will take place this Tuesday, 2 April 2019 at 1pm. The central square in front of the Van de Velde Building and University Main Building - also built according to Van de Velde's plans -UNESCO World Heritage Sites will again be open to the public after about a year of construction. The opening ceremony also marks the beginning of the Bauhaus Centenary celebration weeks, during which visitors have access to a rich programme of events throughout the city.
