Deutsche Bahn has been a pioneer in the use of the Building Information Modelling method for many years. DB Systel GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, is responsible for and manages important projects in the field of digitalisation and technology and plays an essential role in the digitalisation of DB.

At a joint hybrid exchange event with the Chair of Intelligent Technical Design, Prof Christian Koch and  Judith Krischler presented the teaching and research focus of the professorship. DB Systel, which had travelled to the event with a team of product owners and agile managers, presented current development projects on the topics of digital twin, BIM and sensor technology, as well as planning databases and project management platforms. This was followed by an extensive round of questions and discussions, which provided the participants from both sides with interesting new insights into research and practice.
