Classroom work will focus on how we communicate in the sciences in written form. We will look at how to create clarity in our writing through the use of proper grammatical structures and word choice, while also learning about how to create the necessary components of scientific/technical writing, namely: abstracts, introduction, methods, results, conclusions and references. Most of the theoretical work will be covered in classroom instruction, while much of the practical work will be done via the moodle platform where students will submit written work for corrections and feedback. Classroom instruction will also include discussions related to current scientific and technical topics to offer students a well-rounded skills development.
Exam and Grades: Final grades will be based on the writing exercises and a comprehensive final exam.
