A Smooth Start to Your Career: Bauhaus Career Festival Brings Students and Companies Together
From 4 to 13 May, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be hosting the Bauhaus Career Festival for the first time. This new event series aimed at students, graduates, and international talent offers a diverse programme focused on starting a career and includes workshops, digital matching, and a career networking fair.
The Festival helps students to actively start their careers and get in touch with potential employers as early as possible. Using the matching platform, participants can set up meetings in advance, get to know the companies, and expand their own network.
A key aspect of the Festival is the broad range of workshops, which prepares the participants for the application process and imparts practical skills. These skills include preparing for salary negotiations, applying unsolicited for jobs, and improving communication and networking skills. Shortly before the career networking fair begins, participants will be able to fine-tune their professional profile, polish their CV, and develop a compelling elevator pitch. In addition, the Festival offers programmes such as »Struktur, Prioritäten und persönlicher Fokus«, which addresses cross-disciplinary skills that are crucial for a successful career entry. The programme is rounded out by individual advising sessions. Overview of all Workshops:https://veranstaltungen.uni-weimar.de/de/event_series/019cf6bd-c07d-7e42-9e08-761c12841adc
The highlight of the Festival is the career networking fair, which will be held in the Mensa am Park on 13 May 2026. Nearly 40 companies from various fields will be on site and available for individual discussions. Between 10 am and 3 pm, interested participants can expand their personal networks in a relaxed atmosphere and learn about entry-level opportunities.
The event focusses on architecture, urban planning, construction, and engineering. The fair will offer opportunities for students from other disciplines: In a mini-job corner, interested participants can learn about student employment opportunities through an initiative organised in collaboration with Weimar’s »Wirtschaftsförderung«.
