But how can we prove whether a text was written by a human or generated through a computer programme? Are invisible watermarks the solution to identifying authorship? The new »Lantmark« research project, which began at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in early April 2025 and is being funded through the BMBF with nearly 1 million euros, is hoping to answer these questions.

A Scenic Stage as a Trade Fair Stand

She stopped by the stand because it »really stood out from the others«, says a Leipzig Book Fair visitor of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s stand. And because she finds the hustle and bustle of the publishing stands in the exhibition halls to be too much, she particularly enjoys coming here and being able to browse through such great and unusual books. She is especially interested in typography, which drew her to a book printed in red on white and deals with signets, pictograms and lettering by a VK student.

In order to scientifically test the long-term effects, the Thüringer Aufbaubank is granting the joint »Reallabor GrayToGreen« project, led by the Bauhaus-Universität, Weimar, nearly 770,000 euros in funding.
