This year, the TURN Conference 2026 will take place at the Bauhaus University Weimar. TURN26 is aimed at education enthusiasts from the DACH region who want to not only discuss higher education, but also shape it – in a transdisciplinary, cooperative and international way. Teachers and students from various disciplines and types of higher education institutions, teaching assistants, university administrators, representatives of higher education research and higher education policy, as well as social actors and practice partners are cordially invited.
TURN26 in Weimar invites the entire German higher education landscape to experience scenographies of learning that connect the head, heart and senses. With a consistent focus on learning experience design, the conference brings project-based, transformative teaching formats, bold didactics and inspiring learning environments to life and shows how students can become co-creators of education.

To accompany the TURN Conference on 24 and 25 September 2026, an exhibition will bring student work to life and showcase how the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar approaches thinking, designing, building, programming and research. Whether it’s a model, prototype, artwork, material sample or poster – get funding for your exhibition idea and present your exhibit to a nationwide conference audience as part of the TURN accompanying exhibition. Projects and exhibition ideas that you develop or showcase as part of summaery can also be submitted for the TURN Conference and further developed or adapted for the conference programme.
All students and PhD candidates from all faculties at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are welcome to take part.
