»TOP DOWN / BOTTOM UP« – Galerie Eigenheim is showcasing the Final Exhibition of the »Schaufenster Bauhaus100« Series in Berlin

On Saturday, 26 October 2019, the fourth and final exhibition »TOP DOWN / BOTTOM UP – Ökonomisierung und Soziales (Economisation and Social Affairs)« will open at 7 pm at the Berlin branch of Galerie Eigenheim. It will be showcased as part of the »Schaufenster Bauhaus100« series of exhibitions. Students, staff and alumni will be presenting artistic and scientific discussions on the topic.

This time, this temporary Bauhaus-Universität Weimar display in the capital city is dedicated to the economisation of society and its various connected sub-areas. In this way, the exhibition questions how the increase in significance of economic premises affects all areas of society and leads to changes in our value system.

Various artistic and scientific works by students, staff and alumni represent approaches to this discourse framework. Among other things, paintings and drawings by the artist Enrico Freitag will showcase an active Fordist dystopia, and Gabriel Dörner's interdisciplinary research project »Ästhetik der heilsamen Orte (Aesthetics of Healing Spaces)« will showcase an economic structure of Thuringian hospitals. For example, Elfi Fröhlich's work »Art Tabs« discusses novel economic phenomena, such as awareness.

Participating artists:

Benedikt Braun, Vanessa Brazeau, Gabriel Dörner, Enrico Freitag, Elfi Fröhlich, Sebastian Jung, Tommy Neuwirth, Anna Schimkat, Jose Taborda, Philipp Valenta as well as the Chair of Urban Design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
