Call for the Future Direction of the University: Presidium Publishes Kick-Off Programme

The Programme highlights five key points: Education, research, community, organisation and infrastructure. It emphasises the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s identity as an outstanding educational institution where exceptional research takes place and as a cultural pillar in society that is striving to generate even more of an impact in the future.

The Vice Presidents were elected in June 2023 and since then, the Presidium has been working on the Kick-Off Programme under the principle of maximising the degree of participation. To achieve this, the Presidium surveyed numerous students, employees and committee members and held workshops to help define the work and requirements for the future. Topics were then expanded upon and individual points were reinforced in discussions and debates.

The central focus of the Programme is to establish a community of values that, in light of challenging upcoming tasks, supports and strengthens cohesion at the University. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar should be a positive and productive space where all members can develop and maximise their professional and personal potential.

At the same time, the Presidium calls upon the entire University to join them in coming up with solutions. A special e-mail address where individuals can submit suggestions and comments has been set up for this purpose: wir[at]uni-weimar.de.
