8.7. »Ecce Nietzsche« – Master student Farzane Vaziritabar exhibits in the Nietzsche Archive
Farzane Vaziritabar, born 1987 in Yazd, Iran, received her artistic education at the universities of Yazd and Tehran. Since 2018 she has been studying »Public Art and New Artistic Strategies« under Danica Dakić at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. She has shown her work in Berlin at the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Sholeh Abghari Gallery in Marbella and the Contemporary Venice - itsliquid International Art Show in Venice. Solo exhibitions have been held at the European Cartoon Center in Kruishoutem and the Shirin Art Gallery in Tehran. She has received numerous prizes for her cartoons, e.g. 2019 at the World Humor Awards Cartoon Contests in Italy, 2016 at the Dutch Cartoon Festival in the Netherlands and 2014 at the Aydin Dogan Cartoon Festival in Turkey.
About the Nietzsche Archive
In the villa »Silberblick«, the ill Friedrich Nietzsche, cared for by his sister Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, spent the last years of his life. After his death, she had the building, especially the archive rooms, redesigned by Henry van de Velde: The interior design and furnishings are among the most successful creations of the Belgian architect and designer.
Today, the Friedrich Nietzsche College is located in the historical Nietzsche Archive. Founded in 1999, the college sees itself, in the spirit of its namesake, as a place of independent and stubborn reflection, as a place of philosophical contemplation and the examination of the modern world. Based on Nietzsche's idea of a place for »free spirits«, the College has set itself the goal of reflecting on contemporary philosophical questions in an open intellectual debate between philosophers, scientists, artists and writers.
