Project description

Over a drink and in a relaxed atmosphere, in the inner courtyard of the product designers, games can be tried out that were created as part of the "Spielregeln des Designs" seminar.

The seminar "Spielregeln des Designs", led by Dr. Johannes Lang, set itself the task of discovering playful interaction potential by closely observing and exploring a self-selected sensory or psychic phenomenon and developing it further into playable rule-based design concepts. Instead of giving an already existing idea of interaction the appropriate design, the challenge lay in the opposite direction, namely to systematically create new game mechanics and game rules from the inherent logic of sensory and psychological phenomena. Phenomena of the sense of touch, physical balance, communication under physical limitations, the phenomenon of synesthesia as well as interpersonal empathy and social manipulation became the starting point for the playable design concepts. The participants of the seminar invite to test the results of this development process at our place to fall in play.

The synaesthetic AR project FORMING SENSES by Eva Richter, August Guccione and Alina Virjasov is accessible SAT and SUN from 3-7 p.m. in the basement of Marienstraße 5 (see events)

FORMING SENSES PLAYDATE – Ein Ort zum Verspielen

Forming Senses is an augmented reality app designed to guide people into a performative and artistic exchange between their senses and their environment. Influenced by sounds, visitors are asked to draw digitally with their bodies. The project was inspired by the perceptual phenomenon of synesthesia, a connection of senses in which stimulation of one sensory organ evokes a sensation of another.

  • Begin: 15:00 pm
  • End: 19:00 pm

  • Marienstraße 5, im Keller
  • Location: im Keller
