For Administrative Staff

In our increasingly globalised working world, internationalisation plays a decisive role, and this applies not only to the academic but also to the administrative areas of our university. Administrative staff in the faculties and in the guarantee area fulfil important academic support functions. Their area of responsibility is strongly influenced by the high degree of internationality of the university and they take on important tasks in the internationalisation process. The acquisition of foreign language skills and participation in further training abroad offer you the opportunity to gain valuable experience and expand your competences in a targeted manner.

Take the opportunity to develop your skills, enrich your work and actively contribute to the internationalisation of our university! Exchange across national borders not only strengthens your personal skills, but also the entire institution. We encourage you to get in touch with us if you are interested and find out more about the various opportunities and the financial support available.

Further Training Stays abroad

We are happy to support you in developing your intercultural skills and gaining experience abroad and advise you on the various options and their financial support. The Erasmus+ programme enables further education and training measures for staff at European universities and further education institutions.

Language Course Abroad

Language courses are a great way to prepare for international co-operation. With better foreign language skills, you can communicate more effectively, avoid misunderstandings and facilitate exchanges with international students and partners.

An English language course abroad is an effective way to improve your language skills and overcome language barriers. We recommend a stay in an English-speaking country for 1 to 2 weeks, funded by ERASMUS+. Here you will find a selection of providers with whom we have already had good experiences.

Courses in other languages can also be funded if there is a significant connection to your job.

To further develop language skills before and after a stay abroad, the Language Centre offers courses at various levels, which are open to all members of the university. There are also courses specifically for administrative staff.

Staff Training Week

An organised thematic training week offers the opportunity to get to know a university abroad better and at the same time to exchange professional and personal ideas with other international colleagues. Together with a group of international participants in a topic-specific workshop, you can not only deepen your subject-specific expertise, but also develop intercultural skills, which are becoming increasingly important in everyday working life, and expand your network.

The training weeks can be general or aimed at a specific group, e.g. teaching staff, secretaries, student offices, library staff, etc.

The constantly updated offer of Staff Training Weeks can be found here on the website of the European Union.

Job Shadowing

Job shadowing is an individually organised visit to a university abroad and requires some preparation. Through contact with international colleagues, you gain new perspectives on work processes and learn about innovative approaches that you can integrate into your own work area. Job shadowing allows you to benefit directly from the best practices of other universities or institutions while building valuable networks.

Select the institutions, departments, contact persons or best practice projects that could be interesting and inspiring for your work!

The International Office will be happy to support you with existing contacts or ideas for making initial contact.

As a first step, we ask you to create a job shadowing profile of yourself. You are welcome to use our template for this.
