Publication of a new dissertation at the professorship!

We are pleased to announce the successful defense of Mrs. Nasim Babazadeh Khameneh’s dissertation at the Chair of Construction Engineering and Management in the faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Mrs. Babazadeh completed her doctoral program on March 30, 2026, in Weimar with the successful defense of her dissertation titled:

“BIM-Based Noise Forecasting for Enhanced Noise Management in Inner-City Construction”

Mrs. Babazadeh’s dissertation makes a scientific contribution to research on the potential of BIM for predicting construction noise. In doing so, she identified existing methods for noise control and their limitations in practical implementation. Furthermore, Mrs. Babazadeh investigated how BIM could help better integrate noise considerations into the planning phase by developing a BIM-supported approach for noise forecasting using noise mapping methods. She also explored the possibility of developing an automated approach for importing and exporting noise source data from IFC files.

The thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Joachim Bargstädt. In addition, Prof. Jochen Teizer (DTU Denmark) and Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Oliver Kornadt (RPTU Kaiserslautern) reviewed the thesis.
