Publication of a new dissertation at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
The Chair of Construction Engineering and Management at the BuiltEnvironment-Management-Institute at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering are pleased to announce the publication of Thomas Vogl's latest dissertation entitled: ‘A Real Estate Perspective of Coworking Spaces in Non-Urban Areas’.
Insight into the work:
Coworking spaces have long been a global phenomenon, especially in metropolitan regions. But what happens when these collaborative working environments find their way into rural areas? Thomas Vogl's dissertation closes an important research gap and investigates the interrelations between non-urban coworking spaces and selected real estate disciplines.
Central research questions:
· How coworking spaces generally perceive to affect non-urban areas?
· What are the interrelations between real estate markets and non-urban coworking spaces?
· What are the interrelations between the accommodation industry and non-urban coworking spaces?
· How can Corporate Real Estate Management benefit from the use of coworking spaces located in non-urban areas?
Relevance for practice:
The results show how coworking spaces have the potential to attract knowledge workers to rural regions, revitalise historic town centers, provide new impetus for the local real estate market and generate added value for organizations and their Corporate Real Estate Management.
