Public Space in Private Show

Övül Durmuşoğlu, Istanbul/Berlin

Hans Peter Grossmann and Canan Yilmaz have been organizing The Salon Pink, Gaswerk - Weimar as a meeting place for exchanging ideas about genre boundaries since 2010.  Emre Saglam, Dara Dolunay, Claire Seringhaus and Pia Grüter, MFA candidates, Göksu Baysal and Erkin Gören will open Salon Pink 2014 on May 2. The public is invited to join a tour of this show with the Berlin based curator Övül Durmuşoğlu, on May 5th starting at 6pm. at Gaswerk. After the tour Durmuşoğlu will discuss curating work in the public realm. Durmusoglu is a curator and writer. As a Goethe Institute Fellow at Maybe Education and Public Programs for dOCUMENTA(13), she organized: What is Thinking? Or a Taste That Hates Itself; Readers Circle: 100 Notes – 100 Thoughts; and Paper Mornings: Book Presentations at dOCUMENTA(13). Övül Durmusoglu has been artistic director of the festival, Sofia Contemporary 2013. She is currently a resident at Delfina Foundation, London.
