Project description
In a format of performative lecture series the `Decolonise Bauhaus´ aimed to provide an opportunity to create and sustain decolonised knowledge infrastructure. While appropriating Bauhaus as a site of investigatory pedagogy and practice the attempt for this module is to become an actual didactic effort and vision towards the decolonisation of the institution. Starting with a collective definition of postcolonial theory and decolonial practices, and with identifying distinct legacies of colonialism across disciplines, the module is an institutional critique. The module addresses different disciplines from Bauhaus Universität and with the help of guest speakers, it envisions a participatory movement for decolonised education. The content and also the organisational structure of the module aimed to reflect de- and postcolonial interdisciplinary thinking.
