The Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism will open its doors from 8 to 11 February 2024 and give interested parties an insight into the results of the winter semester 2023/24.

Am Mittwoch, 20. Dezember 2023, 17 Uhr, lädt der Fachbereich Medieninformatik an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar alle Interessierten zur Weihnachtsvorlesung in das Audimax in der Steubenstraße 6 ein. Mit dem Thema »Wie entwickeln wir Software mit Verstand?« gibt Prof. Dr. Jan Oliver Ringert, Professor für Software Engineering, einen spannenden Einblick in die Softwareentwicklung.

Produktdesign (Product Design) duos Julia Huhnholz and Friedrich Gerlach and Felix Stockhausen and Michael Mahle were awarded with first place prizes at this year’s »Mia Seeger Preis«. 1,500 euros prize money was awarded for the Bachelor's thesis »The Essence of Biocement«, which has already been recognised with numerous awards, and the semester project »Zweirad«.

The non-profit »Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre« foundation regularly provides funding for future-oriented university teaching projects. Prizes are awarded for exciting teaching approaches that demonstrate strong potential for innovation. Three teaching projects at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar were awarded funding in the latest round. These projects can now use the funding to implement their own innovative ideas for university teaching starting on 1 April:

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Career Services and the International Office Invite you to the Digital Career Fair from 28 to 30 November 2023. The event offers students, alumni and businesses a platform to network and get to know one another and assists with a successful start to a career. The event is aimed primarily at international students of computer science and engineering. Students from other disciplines are of course also welcome to attend.

Twice a year, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar offers information events on degree programmes and general study conditions. The next Orientation Evening is scheduled to take place digitally on Thursday, 9 November 2023 from 7 to 9 pm. Any interested prospective students and their parents are warmly invited to attend.

Die Professur Entwerfen und Wohnungsbau nimmt vom 29. Oktober bis 5. November 2023 unter der Leitung von Prof. Verena von Beckerath mit Studierenden der Studiengänge B.Sc. und M.Sc. Architektur und weiteren Gästen am Werkstatt-Programm »Maintenance 1:1« des Deutschen Pavillons auf der Architekturbiennale in Venedig teil.

On 12 October 2023, first-year students were welcomed to the 2023/2024 winter semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. University President Prof. Peter Benz and Vice President of Student and Academic Affairs Dr. Simon Frisch welcomed the new students and got them in the spirit for this exciting new phase in their lives.

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Matriculation Ceremony welcomes new students in the upcoming 2023/2024 winter semester. The start of the new semester marks not only the return of already-enrolled students, but also the beginning of an exciting new phase for many first-year students.

Am 20. September 2023 startet mit der »Bauhaus Digitalwerkstatt« ein Angebot für Schüler*innen, die ihr Interesse für Informatik, Mathematik und der Lösung komplexer Probleme vertiefen wollen. In zweiwöchigen Einheiten vermitteln ihnen Studierende aus dem Fachbereich Medieninformatik der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar technische Grundlagen und verbinden diese mit aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Fragestellungen.

Das MDR Thüringen Journal besuchte das »Bauhaus Urban Energy Hub«, ein interdisziplinäres Projekt von Studierenden der Fakultäten Bauingenieurwesen sowie Architektur und Urbanistik. Gemeinsam planen und errichten sie ein energieautarkes Gebäude in der Coudraystraße. Betreut wird das Vorhaben von der Professur Bauphysik.

Under the motto »Open.Ateliers«, the students of this year's Bauhaus Summer School will exhibit their work on 1 September, starting at 3 pm, and give visitors the opportunity to get to know their ideas, concepts and artistic works.

Unter dem Titel »Zwischen Bibo und Bot: Studierende im Blick.« stellt das eTeach-Netzwerk Thüringen in diesem Jahr das medienbereicherte LERNEN in den Mittelpunkt und lädt alle Interessierten am 15. und 16. November 2023 zu ihrer Jahrestagung an die Fachhochschule Erfurt ein.

Bereits zum zweiten Mal veranstaltet die Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen in Kooperation mit der Bauhaus Weiterbildungsakademie Weimar e.V. (WBA) am 1. September 2023 einen Kennenlerntag für berufstätige Ingenieur*innen, die sich im Bereich Bauphysik oder Bausanierung weiterbilden möchten. Von 13 bis 18 Uhr können sich Studieninteressierte an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar umschauen und mit den Lehrenden ins Gespräch kommen.

Ein besonderes Sonnensegel ist derzeit am »x.stahl« hinter dem Kubus am Hauptgebäude der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar angebracht. Iffat Mahmuda Khan und David Benjamin Beckert, Studenten im Studiengang Integrated Urban Development and Design, haben es aus recyceltem Plastik als Beitrag für die Bauhaus-Wochen entwickelt und realisiert.

A commemorative concept recalling the National Socialist history of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar buildings in Marienstraße 13 and 15 and Belvederer Allee 6 is being developed. The complex history is to be rendered in the areas around the buildings. The inter-faculty project will be funded by the Presidium of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar until fall 2024.

From 13 August to 2 September 2023, experimentation, learning and building will be taking over the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar campus once more: 215 participants from 50 different countries will be attending various one- to three-week language and tech-nical courses at the Bauhaus Summer School.
