Die Winterschule des Wintersemesters 2021/22 mit dem Thema »Die identitätsstiftende Region« findet vom 6. bis 11. März 2022 in Weimar statt. Auf Einladung der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und im Rahmen des von der Nationalen Stadtentwicklungspolitik geförderten Projekts »Fachlicher Nachwuchs entwirft Zukunft« setzen sich zahlreiche deutsche Hochschulen mit Fragen lokaler Identitäten auseinander.

This is the first time the format will be hosted in Germany.

This is the first time the format will be hosted in Germany.

Approximately 480 tonnes of waste end up of the streets of Khulna, the largest city in the densely populated Ganges Delta, every day. This waste includes huge quantities of plastic, which then makes it way into the ocean via the adjacent waterways. If nothing is done to stop this, ocean contamination will continue to increase. The goal of this joint project is to establish a sustainable waste management system in Khulna to reduce plastic pollution and to protect marine ecosystems. The project, which is being funded with nearly four million euros, will be implemented under the leadership of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar until 2024.

Im interdisziplinären Projekt »Das Wesen der Stadt« begeben sich Studierende der Architektur, Urbanistik und Kunst auf eine Spurensuche, um ihre Stadt empirisch zu erforschen. Hierfür werden bis 15. März 2022 zahlreiche Interviewpartner und -partnerinnen in Weimar gesucht, die ihre Wahrnehmungen in das Projekt einbringen möchten.

The Thuringia Alliance, which the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar belongs to, is currently presenting an interactive exhibit that examines visionary ideas for environmentally friendly neighbourhoods. Interested visitors are invited to explore the exhibition in the German Pavilion until 31 March 2022.

From 10 February 2022, the semester results from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism will be on display as part of the »go4spring«. Due to the pandemic, the students are largely using online formats to present their work.

Für die Entwicklung einer technologischen Innovation im Bereich der Baustoffingenieurwissenschaft sind drei Wissenschaftler der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar auf der internationalen Fachmesse »Ideen – Erfindungen – Neuheiten« iENA 2021 in Nürnberg mit einer Silbermedaille geehrt worden.

Für seine herausragende Masterarbeit zum Thema »Automatisierte bildbasierte Bestimmung des Gebäudealters« ist Alexander Benz, wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Professur Bauphysik der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, mit dem diesjährigen Nachwuchs-Innovationspreis Bauwerkserhaltung ausgezeichnet worden. Er erhielt die Würdigung im Rahmen der feierlichen Preisverleihung am Freitag, 5. November, in Lübeck.

In the »SARS-CoV-2 wastewater monitoring in Thuringia« (CoMoTH) pilot project, scientists at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are researching how area-wide wastewater monitoring can be used as an early warning system against coronavirus outbreaks. To mark the start of the project, Thuringia’s Minister of Science Wolfgang Tiefensee presented funding in the amount of 370,000 euros to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and its industrial partner, measurement technology company Analytik Jena GmbH, on Wednesday, 20 October.

The jury, including representatives of the Goethe-Institut, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Galerie Eigenheim Weimar/Berlin and the previous artist-in-residence, chose the Italian artist Marialuisa Capurso with her project »Rubedo«. The artist will work in Weimar from 15 September to 15 December 2021.

August 2021 im nächtlichen Park an der Ilm als Teil des kulturellen Programms anlässlich des »Weimarer Dreiecks«, einem außenpolitischen Gipfeltreffen der Länder Frankreich, Deutschland und Polen, zu erleben sein. Ergänzt wird die Aufführung durch Arbeiten von Studierenden der Medienkunst / Mediengestaltung der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
