The »Materialverteiler« is now open. On 8 April from 4 to 9 pm, those interested can have a look around and drop off or pick up materials. The pilot project, which has been collecting materials since February, offers a central point for students and instructors at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to drop off recyclable materials like cardboard, wood, and foam that can then be passed on free of charge.

Aus diesem Anlass findet am 24. und 25. April 2025 der internationale Workshop »Baumethoden und -materialien für ein Syrien nach dem Krieg« an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar statt. Die zweitägige Auftaktveranstaltung, organisiert vom Innovationszentrum BAU in Zusammenarbeit mit der Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen, bringt Expert*innen aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zusammen. Ziel ist es, effektive, ökologische und wirtschaftlich tragfähige Ansätze für den nachhaltigen Wiederaufbau Syriens zu diskutieren und neue Kooperationen zu fördern.

Am 31. März und 1. April 2025 veranstalten die Forschungsgesellschaft für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen e. V. (FGSV) und die Professur Verkehrssystemplanung an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar das »Symposium Verkehrssicherheit von Straßen« im congress centrum weimarhalle. 2025 geht es unter anderem um schwere Radunfälle auf Landstraßen, bessere Straßenmarkierungen sowie sichere Schulwege. Ziel ist es, Entscheider*innen in Politik, Verkehrsplanung und Forschung zu qualifizieren, um relevante Sicherheitsrisiken aufzudecken und zu beheben.

On 31 March and 1 April, the »Forschungsgesellschaft für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen e. V. (FGSV)« and the Professorship of Transport System Planning at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have organised the »Symposium Verkehrssicherheit von Straßen« at the Congress Centrum Weimarhalle. The 2025 topics include looking at serious cycling accidents on rural roads, improving road markings, and safe school routes. The goal is to qualify decision-makers in politics, transport planning, and research in order to identify and eliminate road traffic risks.

In 2024, Prof Dr Kim Meow Liew from the City University of Hong Kong was awarded the Carl Zeiss Humboldt Research Prize for Experts in Mechanics and Sustainable Engineering. He was nominated by the Institute of Structural Mechanics (ISM) at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where he spent the summer on a research visit. He invites all interested parties to attend a guest lecture on »STEM Roles in Clean Energy Development and Sustainability« on 27 March 2025 at 10 a.m. in Lecture Hall D at Marienstraße 13.

Students from the Visuelle Kommunikation (Visual Communication) and Media Art and Design degree programmes artistically explored the individual and collective memories of the Holocaust and the Second World War. Films, video collages, set designs, and screenplay projects were created in several projects and courses. The students are presenting their work under the title »Morgen ist heute gestern« as part of the Deutsche Nationaltheater and Staatskapelle Weimar’s »Ressource Erinnerung« in the Redoute.
